The skill of speaking in public around a range of topics is an important one in the development of any young person. To then utilise that skill in a competitive environment ups the pressure significantly and brings out the best in those with a flair for delivery and conveying their message.
The younger members of our ACC community put these skills to the test today, as they participated in the Junior Debating & Public Speaking competition at St Bernard’s College. This annual event is always a fantastic day – a new way to make friends and to get to know a bit about other schools within our Association. Well done to all of the students that took part and congratulations on the outstanding speeches that were delivered throughout the day.
The ACC would like to acknowledge the efforts of the staff and students of St Bernard’s for a wonderful job in hosting. A particular thanks to Siobhan Loukomitis and Kevin Nunan for their excellent leadership, as well as the staff members from the various schools for their work in preparing and supporting the boys. A thank-you also to the DAV adjudicators who play such an important role in the event.
