It was another great day of cross country racing at Bundoora Park this week, as the ACC held its annual Cross Country Championship. After some early drizzle, the day cleared and fine weather prevailed across the day, enabling the spectators to head out on to the course to cheer on the participants from their respective schools.
The Division 1 competition was the closest it has been for a number of years, with only a handful of points separating the 3 schools leading into the final event of the day. In the end, St Bernard’s came through ahead of St Joseph’s and St Bede’s.
In Division 2, Salesian broke through for their first ever Cross Country title, finishing ahead of CBC St. Kilda and Emmanuel.
The first three place getters in each event received their medals as part of the presentation ceremony. Congratulations to each of these athletes on their outstanding achievement in what is a very high quality field of participants.
