Senior Finals Locked In

Following a fantastic round of semi final action yesterday, the ACC senior grand finals are locked and loaded and a huge afternoon is expected next Wednesday (September 6th).

The hockey semi finals saw Whitefriars continue their dominant season, easily accounting for Emmanuel 12-2. The clash between last year’s premiers St Bede’s and regular top 4 finisher St Bernard’s resulted in a very tight finish – St Bernard’s won through to the grand final after claiming a 4-3 victory.

In the table tennis, Mazenod accounted for St Joseph’s FTG 13/45 to 2/21, whilst Parade knocked over last year’s finalists in Simonds 10/46 to 5/29 to book their spot at MSAC next week.

There was plenty of great action in the basketball semi finals at MSAC, with the clash between Mazenod and Parade in the A’s an absolute classic. With the match tied up at full time, the action continued into overtime, then a second overtime, and finally a third overtime before a buzzer beater from Mazenod sealed the win. Check out the video of the final seconds of the match below:

In other basketball semi finals, St Bede’s defeated St Bernard’s to lock in their place in the A final, whilst in the B’s Whitefriars defeated Mazenod and St Bernard’s won through over De La Salle.
