There are three sporting championships that take place each year as part of the ACC program.

Athletics

The athletics championship takes place at the home of track & field in Melbourne – Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park. The program runs this year on Thursday 22nd of February, from 9:30am through to 3:30pm. For event details, visit the Athletics page.

Swimming

The Swimming championship is held at the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre (MSAC) in Albert Park. The event program for 2023 will be held on Wednesday March 27th, from 10am-2pm  in the outdoor competition pool. This event is used as a qualifying meet to select the team to represent the ACC at the Victorian Schools Swimming Championship in May ( https://vic.Swimming.org.au/events/victorian-school-associations-competition). For event details, visit the Swimming page.

Cross Country

Bundoora Park is the home of the ACC cross country event which is held in mid September each year. The younger age groups (U/13 – U/15) compete over a 3km course, whilst the older age groups (U/16 – Senior) compete over 5kms. Each age group runs separately, although both divisions run at the same time with points distributed accordingly. Races commence at 10:45am and are usually completed by 2pm. For event details, visit the Cross Country page.

GENERAL INFORMATION

There is a promotion and relegation system in place for all three of our carnival sports. The results of the school finishing in last place in Division 1 are compared directly with results of the team finishing in first place in Division 2. The promotion and relegation system is only applied if the aggregate results of the two relevant schools warrant a change. Our athletics event is overseen by officials from Athletics Victoria. The swimming event is overseen by officials from Swimming Victoria.
